Germany Pathway

Physiotherapist

Professional recognition pathway for internationally qualified physiotherapists seeking to have their foreign BPT or MPT qualification recognized in Germany and obtain authorization to work as a physiotherapist.

Physiotherapist

Overview

Internationally qualified physiotherapists who want to work professionally in Germany generally need to have their foreign professional qualification assessed and recognized through the Anerkennung process. This pathway is relevant to candidates holding qualifications such as BPT or MPT, with or without professional experience. The recognition process evaluates the foreign qualification against the applicable German professional requirements. Once the required recognition conditions are fulfilled, the candidate can obtain the professional authorization, including the state-issued professional certificate known as the Berufsurkunde, allowing them to work as a physiotherapist in Germany.
